Helene was born and raised by her Thai mother and Norwegian father. In 2005, at 18, she competed in the the Miss Norway Pageant on a whim, and won the title. She spent 17 months as Miss Norway, and traveled the world as a Red Cross Ambassador experiencing many different cultures and ways of life. In 2005 she represented Norway in the Miss Universe Pageant in Bangkok,
